A metal-insulator-metal capacitor for improved mixed-mode capacitor in a logic circuit of a semiconductor device is disclosed. The bottom electrode of the capacitor is polycide and the top electrode is metal formed by damascene technology. The middle layer of the capacitor is a dielectric layer formed by using a chemical vapor deposition method. The voltage coefficient of this capacitor is approximate to zero.
Methods for manufacturing compressible and sinterable metal powders are provided by this invention which include contacting core metal particles with a sol of a precursor of a metal. The sol has a viscosity of from about 10-10.sup.5 centipoise and comprises at least 1.0 weight percent of the precursor in a liquid medium. The final coating is produced by removing the liquid from the sol and then converting the precursor to form a substantially uniform layer of a Cu-Ni-Mo alloy on the surfaces of ...
Metal to metal bonding using a heat-sensitive adhesive is effected by application of ultrasonic energy to a metal-adhesive-metal assembly. The metals bonded may be, for example, sheets, strips, or the ends of a can blank, thus producing a side-seam.
Disclosed is an electromagnetically operated force motor which positions a valve member with respect to a valve seat to open and close a valve, thereby controlling the flow of fluid through a chamber which is sealed with respect to the force motor. Various portions of the force motor are maintained in position by a mechanical bond which provides a fluidtight seal.
A bidirectional metal-to-metal seal of material composition with low modulus of elasticity and yield strength which is gall resistant and designed to seal against fluid pressure in the annulus between concentric cylindrical members. The seal comprises an annular body of U-shape and radial cross section with an annular base and a pair of coaxial sealing lips integral therewith. An annular bridge of similar composition is inserted in the gap between the sealing lips and fluid pressure in the annul...
A method of forming a metal-to-metal antifuse. An antifuse stack 32 is formed comprising a first metal layer 16, an antifuse dielectric layer, and an etchstop layer. The etchstop layer may, for example, comprise an oxide layer 24 and an amorphous silicon layer 28. An antifuse via 44 is etched through an interlevel dielectric layer 36 to the antifuse stack 32. Next, a portion of the etchstop layer at the bottom of via 44 is removed. Finally, a second layer of metal 48 is deposited to fill antifus...
A structure including a thin film of a conductive alkaline earth metal oxide selected from the group consisting of strontium ruthenium trioxide, calcium ruthenium trioxide, barium ruthenium trioxide, lanthanum-strontium cobalt oxide or mixed alkaline earth ruthenium trioxides thereof upon a thin film of a noble metal such as platinum is provided.
A ported fluid flow member has been developed in which one or more ports each is lined with a metal tube which has a portion projecting into the body member. The projecting portion may be crushed shut forming a metal-to-metal seal to seal off the corresponding port to flow. Methods have been invented for using the items with one or more of the lined ports.
A metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) device comprises interdigitated metal electrodes (2, 3) on a semiconductor substrate (1). When embodied as a photoconductor, a photoconductive region (4) is bounded by layers (5, 6) which form a resonant cavity for incoming radiation to improve the response. In another embodiment, which can be either a photodiode or photoconductor, the electrodes are arranged to extend into the thickness of the photoresponsive layer (4). To reduce sensitivity to polarization,the...
The improved annular seal of the present invention provides a seal across an annular space between facing cylindrical surfaces and includes an outer annular ring, inner annular ring, the gap between the outer annular ring and the inner annular ring being suitably sealed at one end thereof so that the open end is open to admit pressure which is to be sealed between the two rings, an outer sealing element on the exterior of said outer annular ring, and an inner sealing element on the interior of t...
