In one aspect, the invention provides curable fluoropolymer compositions comprising fluoropolymer, onium, and alkyl or aryl oxalate-blocked compound as a crosslinking agent. In other aspects, the invention provides methods of making curable fluoropolymer compositions and provides alkyl or aryl oxalate-blocked compounds.
The new compound t-butylperoxycyclododecyl oxalate is described, as well as a method of preparing it and use of the compound as a polymerization initiator.
A cuprous oxalate complex of the formula Cu.sub.2 (CO).sub.n L.sub.m C.sub.2 O.sub.4 wherein L is an unsaturated hydrocarbon containing at least one non-aromatic unsaturation and n and m are numbers from 0 to 2.
A process for producing an oxalate diester is provided. The oxalate diester is produced by reacting an aliphatic alcohol, carbon monoxide and molecular oxygen at an elevated temperature and under pressure in the presence of a catalyst comprising (1) metallic palladium or a palladium compound, (2) a heteropoly-acid and (3) at least one nitrogen compound selected from the group consisting of nitric acid, nitrogen oxides and esters of nitrous acid.
A process for the production of ethylene glycol, alkali metal salts of glycine, alkali metal salts of glycolic acid, alkali metal salts of diglycolic acid and alkali metal salts of nitrilotriacetic acid by the hydrogenation of oxalic acid or an alkali metal hydrogen oxalate, optionally in the presence of ammonia, said oxalic acid or alkali metal hydrogen oxalate containing less than two moles water of hydration.
A process for the preparation of oxalate esters by reacting an alcohol with a mixture of carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a catalytic mixture of: (a) a palladium, rhodium, platinum, copper, or cadmium metal salt compound or mixture thereof, (b) an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic amine or ammonia, (c) a copper (I), copper (II), iron (II) or iron (III) oxidant salt compound, and (d) an ammonium or substituted ammonium salt compound or acid with a counterion other t...
A poly(methylene oxalate) polymer [poly(oxy(1,2-dioxo-1,2-ethanediyl)oxymethylene)], a bis(tetrabutylammonium) oxalate salt, methods of synthesis thereof and methods of use. Poly(methylene oxalate) is insoluble in all common organic solvents, does not melt and is resistant to fire. Applications are as a light-weight material for use at high temperatures, e.g. as a structural material in aircraft and space vehicles, as a binder for brake systems, and as an insulator for microelectronic components...
Disclosed is a crystalline compound and a method of making the compound. The composition is expressed in terms of molar ratios by the formula [Al.sub.2 (OH).sub.6 ].multidot.X[Li.sub.2 C.sub.2 O.sub.4 ] where X is in the range of 0.1 to 1. The method comprises the steps of adding Al(OH).sub.3 to an aqueous solution containing lithium oxalate to provide a mixture; and reacting said mixture to form said new compositions.
Methods of controlling the formation of calcium oxalate in aqueous systems are disclosed. The methods comprise adding from about 0.1 to 500 ppm of a water soluble (meth)acrylic acid/allyl ether copolymer to the desired water system. The methods are especially well adapted for use in pulping and paper making systems wherein calcium oxalate is often encountered as a troublesome scale forming compound.
A process of inhibiting oxalate scale formation in aqueous systems is disclosed. A preferred class of scale inhibitors is represented by polyamino hexamethylene phosphonates. These phosphonate inhibitors can be used in levels of from 0.05 ppm to 300 ppm (of the aqueous solution) at pH in the near neutral to preferably alkaline medium.
