A flexible pouch having an openable closure comprising a closure element arranged to close an opening in the pouch, at least one edge part of the opening being folded relative to the remainder of the body, and a seal for detachably sealing said one edge part of the opening by adhesion to at least one overlapping edge part of said closure element, the seal being produced by coating at least one of the surfaces where the seal is to be provided with an adhesive which is reactivatable by the applica...
A pair of juxtaposed identically constructed transparent box members are positioned at opposite sides of a display card which is formed with an opening in register with the box members, so that the latter coact to define a closed compartment. The box members are provided with pairs of flanges which have the card sandwiched between them, and detents passing through the card locking the flanges together, thus holding the box members and the card in assembled relation. The locked flanges are intend...
A can package comprising a plurality of cans, preferably twelve, including a flat carrier in the form of a sheet having openings stretched over the upper ends of the cans and a tubular banding strap of plastic material stretched about the periphery of the group of cans and bonded along one edge to the periphery of the carrier. The band includes an integral handle.
In a carton for dispensing strand material of substantial weight, inexpensive and relatively durable means for supporting the carton in the form of a corner knock-out is provided, whereby the weight is exerted on the two-sides of the carton, although supported by one hand.
A device for aiding the opening of a flexible package is embodied by a tab which provides a cutter having at least one cutting edge for piercing a flexible surface of a package. In one embodiment, the tab is planar and is secured to a package such that it may be removed for piercing a flexible surface of the package by the at least one cutting edge of the cutter for opening the package. In another embodiment, the tab, which is made of a resilient material, is planar and contains at least one lin...
A sealed beverage package containing one or more beverage ingredients and being formed from substantially air- and water-impermeable materials, the said package comprising a body portion having a compartment containing the beverage ingredients and a beverage outlet channel formed therein, the beverage outlet channel and the compartment of the body portion containing the beverage ingredients communicating in such a manner that, in use, the said compartment and the outlet channel co-operate to act...
Packages (7) are conveyed through at least one, and preferably two, test stations (14, 16). At each station there is a test head (7) which is urged towards the conveying path, preferably by gravity. As a package (7) is conveyed through a station it displaces the head away from the path. The displacement is monitored. Preferably, subsequent displacement towards the path due to leakage of the package is also monitored.
A package having a stretch membrane convolutely position about an unwindable wound body of strand where a tacky surface of the membrane contacts the outer layer of strands. The tacky surface also interlocks multiple layers of the membrane together.
The invention includes semiconductor packages having a patterned substrate with openings extending therethrough, conductive circuit traces over the substrate and having portions extending over the openings, a semiconductor die over the circuit traces, and a matrix contacting the circuit traces and also contacting the die. The invention also includes methods of forming semiconductor packages. Such methods can include provision of a construction comprising an electrically conductive layer on a mas...
Devices such as amplifiers are built on a heat sink having a perimeter wall surrounding active electronic devices. Surprisingly formation of wire bonds to such devices tends to be degraded if they have an aspect ratio greater than 2:1. This problem is overcome by forming wire bonds before such walls have a height of 30 mils and after bond formation extending the walls to their final height.
