Stereo-photogrammetric method and apparatus for the metric evaluation and restitution of stereoscopic photographs of an object in numerical and graphical displays.
Three techniques applicable to photogrammetric systems are taught. The first one is for performing camera position approximation, wherein an image is taken and using this image, it is possible to approximate the position the camera was in when taking the picture. The second technique is for reconstructing planar objects using one image with the planar object present in the image. The third technique is a precision estimation method of reconstructed points. The system performs for each points of ...
A method for characterizing a geometric element of an object includes positioning a calibrated target adjacent a calibration geometric element, the calibrated target having at least two differentially detectable features having a known geometric relationship to each other. Next a relationship of the calibrated target to the calibration geometric element is determined, and the calibrated target is moved adjacent a geometric feature of an object desired to be characterized. Then photogrammetry is ...
A photogrammetric plotting apparatus is provided. The apparatus comprises an optical system means for viewing by an operator of an image of a first stereomodel derived from a pair of stereoscopically related photograms. The apparatus is further comprised of an operator controlled means for effecting stereomodel exploring motions relative to the photograms, and a tracing or display device. A means is provided for converting the exploring motions into plotting motions for the tracing or display de...
An electro-optical measuring system in a photogrammetric comparator or stereocompiler comprises a visible light transparent phase grating which is carried upon a surface of the photo support plate of the device. The grating is formed as a composite layer of .lambda./4 films of at least two dielectric materials of different refractive index which are deposited on the support in such a manner as to yield parallel bands in which the two film materials are in alternating sequence from band to band. ...
A photogrammetric measurement system produces a survey map based on a set of photographed pictures obtained at two different photographing positions. Each of the pictures includes at least one continuous line and at least three conspicuous points away from the continuous line, with at least one of the conspicuous points and remaining conspicuous points being placed at opposing sides of the continuous line. The set of pictures are produced as a first picture and a second picture. First lines are ...
A target for use in photogrammetric analysis that does not distort the object to be analyzed has been developed. The target is formed by mixing a diffuse material with a solvent and then applying the mixture to the surface of the object to be analyzed. The object is then coated with a reflective material so that the diffuse material forms a reflective target suitable for use in photogrammetric analysis.
An automatic stereo plotter comprises a correlator and a follow-up unit, which is preferably employed to follow-up a measuring mark in z-direction relative to a stereo model to be evaluated. In order to improve the efficiency of the stereo plotter additional means are provided which increase the amplification factor between the parallax error signals at the output of the image correlator and the follow-up signals. Thus variations in the video signals derived from the measuring photographs are co...
A photogrammetric plotting apparatus comprises means to move two stereographic plates in their plane with respect to two respective optical systems which are arranged to project onto a single screen images of reference marks indicating the trace of the line of sight of each optical system on the respective plate. Different polarizers are disposed on the lines of sight of the optical systems so that an operator looking at the said screen through two analyzers corresponding to the polarizers sees ...
In a photogrammetric analytical measurement system, a survey map is produced on the basis of two respective photographed pictures obtained at two different photographing positions. Each of the pictures includes an object image to be recorded on the survey map, and a standard measurement scale image for producing an accurately scaled object image. Data for producing the survey map is approximately calculated on the basis of two-dimensional position data inputted to the computer by designating the...
