In a process for preparing oganohalosilanes by reacting metallic silicon particles with an organohalide in the presence of a copper catalyst, a contact mass composed of the metallic silicon and the catalyst further contains a minute, but effective amount of a catalytic metal powder which has been produced by an atomizing technique. The process is successful in drastically increasing a formation rate without lowering the selectivity of useful silane.
The invention relates to a process for preparing triphendioxazine compounds by cyclizing the intermediates (IV) ##STR1## in the presence of manganese oxide and sulfuric acid to form compounds of the general formula (I) ##STR2## a process for condensing compounds of the general formula (II) ##STR3## with compounds of the general formula (III) to form the chlorine-free intermediates (IV) ##STR4## and also compounds of the general formula (IV).
The invention relates to nanoparticulate preparations containing at least one mixed metal oxide in the form of supramagnetic, nanoscale particles, methods for heating such a preparation, and methods for producing and dissolving adhesive compounds of the basis of said preparations.
A cosmetic comprising the organopolysiloxane wax represented by the following formula (1), ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 is a group selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, alicyclic groups, aryl groups, aralkyl groups and fluorinated alkyl groups; R.sup.2 is a group having a pentaerythritol higher fatty acid polyester residue represented by the following formula (2), (CH.sub.2OCOR.sup.8).sub.mC(CH.sub.2O--X--).sub.4-m (2) wherein 1.ltoreq.m<4 or a group ...
A preparation comprising the carotenoids phytoene and phytofluene in an amount which, in combination, is effective in preventing various kinds of damage resulting from oxidation and exposure to UV light is provided. The preparation is essentially colorless and may be used as a topical cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation as well as an additive in food preparations. In addition, a method for producing substantive amounts of phytoene and phytofluene from carotenoid producing organisms is describ...
The invention is directed to a process and method for forming synthetic hydroxysodalite from nepheline and feldspar and/or nepheline syenite. A caustic material such as a solution of sodium hydroxide is combined with the nepheline and feldspar and/or nepheline syenite to form the synthetic hydroxysodalite.
The invention concerns a skin preparation for moistening human skin comprising a combination of a component A and a component B, wherein A includes at least two saturated C.sub.9-C.sub.31 fatty acids selected from the group consisting of iso- and anteiso fatty acids, whereby component B consists of cholesterol in an amount of 5-15% by weight of component A.
The invention relates to a complex coacervation process based on the use of type B gelatin as polycationic colloid, for the preparation of "Halal" certified flavor-containing microcapsules.
Alkanolamine compositions are disclosed. The composition comprises an alkanolamine and hydroxylamine or hydrazine. Preferred alkanolamine includes diethanolamine, triethanolamine, and mixtures thereof. The composition of the invention has significantly reduced discoloration.
The disclosure relates to a process for preparing butadiene. The process involves nonoxidatively catalytically dehydrogenating butane to obtain a product gas stream containing butane, 1-butene, 2-butene, butadiene, hydrogen and secondary constituents. The 1-butene and 2-butene of the product gas stream is then oxidatively dehydrogenated to give a second gas stream containing butane,2-butene, butadiene, hydrogen, steam and secondary constituents. Next, the butane,2-butene and butadiene are separa...
