A composition for significantly improving corrosion protection comprising e combination of an alkylaryl sulfonate with a surface active agent including partial organic phosphate esters neutralized with ethylenediamine or barium. An aromatic petroleum hydrocarbon resin is added to enhance protection in crevice areas and to improve handling characteristics.
The present invention pertains to a splash zone coating system for the protection of metallic surfaces subject to active corrosion. More specifically, the present invention pertains to novel means for covering and coating metallic structures, e.g., pipe leg supports of an offshore oil well structure, from seawater corrosion in the splash zone of the structure which is that area subjected to intermittent contact by seawater.
Surface active contaminants adsorbed on the interior surface of a pipeline can be desorbed therefrom and effectively removed by introducing into the line an effective quantity of wet aliphatic alcohol (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alcohol) containing a small amount of either a dimer acid of a C.sub.16 -C.sub.20 ethenoid fatty acid or a C.sub.4 -C.sub.20 alkyl amine salt of a partially esterified phosphoric acid.
A card screen having a non-spark surface on at least a portion of the screen, manufactured either by forming the entire screen of a solid plastic material free from spark producing properties or by covering the blanks with a layer or laminate of plastic or other non-spark generating material at the point where the screen is set nearest the cylinders to prevent sparks resulting from engagement with the card screen by the cylinder teeth, which could possibly lead to fires in or beneath the carding...
Novel anticonvulsant composition containing as the active ingredient, 3,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-1-acetamidophthalanne of the formula ##SPC1## And to a novel method of preventing convulsions in warm-blooded animals.
An improved device for preventing the scattering of developer applicable to a dry type electrophotographic copying apparatus, especially to portions thereof dealing with developer such as developing means, cleaning means, etc. The device includes a container for containing developing or cleaning mechanism and having an opening formed at a portion thereof, air communication ports disposed at the edge portions of the opening in the container so as to form an air flow for sucking any scattering dev...
This window draft preventing device is of an adjustable spring biased construction including upper and lower spring biased frame assemblies joined together at their outer ends by upwardly extending end frame members of which a closure sheet of plastic and transparent material is extended and wrapped to make two or more passes between the end frame members with one end of the closure sheet being anchored to one of the end frame members and the free end of the closure sheet being anchored to the o...
A motor vehicle sends a train of laser light pulses with a fixed repetition period and receives the pulses reflected from a preceding vehicle. The received pulses are converted to an electrical signal and applied to a gate circuit gated with the repetition period of the laser light pulses and with a time delay determined by the speed of the vehicle. Those signal portions resulting from the received pulses and passed through the gate circuit are held in peak value and integrated providing an inte...
An air-pollution preventive system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, adapted to eliminate the evaporative gases emitted from the fuel storage tank into the atmosphere for thereby reducing air pollution. The evaporative gases produced in the fuel storage tank are introduced to the crankcase of the engine and admitted to the combustion chamber of the engine through the carburetor of the engine together with the blow-by gases in the crankcase. The flow of the evaporative losses ...
A granular fertilizer is treated with an anti-caking agent consisting of an aqueous solution of (1) a substantially water-insoluble polymer of polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl acetals, partially saponified polyvinyl acetate, partially acetylated polyvinyl alcohol, esters of polyacrylic acid and an aliphatic alcohol, or copolymers thereof with another copolymerizable monomer, dissolved in (2) an aqueous solution of alkyl sulfates, .alpha.-olefin sulfonates or alkylsulfonates containing six to 10 carb...
