A bistable flip-flop circuit having a memory core is designed to return to a preferred state after power failure or radiation burst. A feedback loop from the memory core senses whether the preferred state is the same as the state before power failure or radiation and, if not the same, changes the state of the flip-flop circuit.
A field-effect transistor, having a source electrode, a drain electrode, a first insulated gate electrode, and a second insulated gate electrode, is provided with a feedback circuit comprising one or more series resistors and one or more shunt capacitors connected between the drain electrode and the first insulated gate electrode. This circuit provides an inductive impedance between the source and drain electrodes without inductive coils.
This arrangement for providing precision motion includes two relatively movable members, one of which is provided with a surface accurately defining a predetermined path, opposite which is a surface approximately parallel to the first, but not made to the same close tolerances so that some deviations exist. Air bearings are held adjacent these surfaces with ball-and-socket mountings to allow universal movement of the bearings. The bearings adjacent the irregular surface are held by a resilient m...
Radiation curable coating compositions for providing solvent-resistant abhesive coatings comprise polyfluorinated acrylates and methacrylates, polyethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agents and a film-forming organic polymer. The compositions can be used after radiation curing to render substrates oil, soil, and water repellent. The cured compositions have particular use as release coatings in image transfer systems wherein a fused xerographic image is transferred from the release coated surf...
A holding device comprising first and second generally parallel rigid plates and a pad of resilient material sandwiched between the plates, the plates being bonded to opposite sides of the pad. Thus, the plates are resiliently connected for slight relative movement. One of the two plates may be split into at least two portions, each of which is resiliently connected to the other plate. The two portions provide jaws for gripping parts.
The present invention relates to a car providing a sliding door comprising guide rails mounted along an entry opening formed on the front half section of a car body and a sliding door used as a front door to be slid through a roller assembly to be engaged with each guide rail when it is opened or shut. In this car, the sliding amount of the sliding door is regulated so as to disable the rear end of the sliding door to be projected from the rear end of a car body when it is opened. And, in order ...
The invention concerns itself with a process for providing a package, especially a parallelepiped form like a carton with a holding device or handle which is attached to the wall of the package so that it can be transported. According to the invention a handle is provided which is integrated into package wall, the shape of the handle being defined by a perforated tear line in the wall. The handle is attached to the wall by means of a carrying tape attached to the inner surface of the wall and th...
An intraocular lens that provides accommodation in direct response to contraction and relaxation of the ciliary body. The lens includes a first component having fixed refractive power and a second component having varying refractive power, the components being relatively movable towards each other as the ciliary body contracts to increase the total refractive power of the lens.
A suture tab body has inside and outside surfaces and first and second parts with a line therebetween. Openings located about the first part pass through the body from the inside to the outside surface. Adhesion means on a section of the inside surface is juxtaposed to itself when the first and second parts are folded along the line. The openings in the first part are on another section apart from the adhesion means. A reinforcement as a thicker area of the first part has ears for the openings. ...
An apparatus for providing a rotor of an electrical rotating machine in which the apparatus has frame means including a pair of spaced apart support members each having arcuate shaped surfaces engaging opposite shaft ends of a rotor to thereby support the rotor on the frame means. A drive belt has first and second loop ends with the first loop end being positioned around the rotor for driving the latter. Where the rotor includes a commutator, the first loop end may be positioned in engagement wi...
