The present invention provides a simply constructed, improved pulse combustor realizing stable pulse combustion with less noise and vibration. The pulse combustor includes: a combustion chamber; a mixing chamber coupled with the intake side of the combustion chamber via a first opening provided with a flame trap; and an air chamber connecting to the mixing chamber via second opening. The second opening is eccentric with respect to the first opening. The fuel gas and air are simultaneously suppli...
A pulse controller for controlling the energization and regenerative braking of a DC electric motor. An electronic switch connects the motor to a power source during motor driving and controls motor current during regenerative braking, the switch being rendered alternately conductive and non-conductive during both driving and braking and the ratio of conductive to non-conductive periods being controlled. The conductive and non-conductive periods are interrelated such that, regardless of the rati...
A pulsation damper is disclosed for use in a standard air-conditioning compressor for an automobile. The pulsation damper consists of a body portion and a cap portion and the cap portion has an outer diameter that is dimensioned to be press fit within the outlet opening of the housing of the air compressor. Thus, the pulsation damper can be retro-fit in a standard air compressor housing and will not increase the overall size of the housing or require modification in the connecting tubing. The bo...
This invention relates to apparatus for monitoring the pulse rate of a human or animal subject, including a pulse detector for attachment to the subject which produces a pulse signal corresponding to the pulse of the subject, a transmitter which transmits the pulse signal to a remote signal analyzer and indicator which exhibits a characteristic of the pulse. The indicator may be a monitor to continuously display the pulse rate or an alarm which indicates an increase in pulse rate. The invention ...
A pulse combustor has a casing in which are defined a mixing chamber and a combustion chamber. The casing is formed with a first and second air inlet holes and a fuel inlet hole which open to the mixing chamber. An air supply pipe and a fuel supply pipe are connected to the first air inlet hole and the fuel inlet hole, respectively. The second air inlet hole communicates with the first air inlet hole through a communication hole formed in the casing. Air supplied through the air supply pipe is f...
A pulse generator includes a transducer such as a resolver coupled to a driven body for converting a mechanical motion thereof to a phase-modulated signal, an excitation signal generator for supplying an excitation signal as a carrier of the phase-modulated signal to the transducer, a clock pulse generator for generating a train of clock pulses, a waveform shaping circuit for shaping the waveform of the phase-modulated signal issued from the transducer, a counter for receiving the clock pulses t...
An impulse generator for a fluid meter register is comprised of a rotatable armature which produces a magnetic field and which is intermittently driven by the register gear train against the bias of a spring. When released from the gear train the armature rotates under the influence of the spring, the magnetic field acting on the turns of a coil to produce a voltage pulse in the coil. A release mechanism between the armature and the register gear train is arranged so that the resisting torque ap...
A pulse dampener for inclusion into a liquid chromatography system comprising a body defining a cylindrical cavity which is enclosed by a closure member. A chemically inert diaphram extends across the cavity and further encloses a unitized plug. The unitized plug is provided with at least two portions, each having different compressibility characteristics. The closure member is provided with inlet and outlet ports, and a central thinned section on which is mounted a strain gauge. The strain gaug...
An apparatus and method is disclosed that produces a high powered sub-microsecond pulse. The present invention utilizes a set of parallel high speed switches and drivers to switch a Darlington Pulse forming network that is charged by a resonant charging circuit. The Darlington Pulse forming network produces a negative pulse which is inverted in a coaxial inverter and then amplified in a coaxial line transformer to provide the high powered short duration pulse signal.
A pulse damper for use in a liquid chromatographic solvent delivery system includes a cavity within a housing containing a compliant medium. The compliant medium being an elastomer. As a consequence, a solvent flow volume can be precisely formed and maintained.
