A drill including a body having mortises (7), and a solid hard metal head (4) having a plurality of bits (3) and secured to the drill body over the end surface (5) of the head (4) and additionally secured to the drill body over portions of side surfaces (6) of the bits, which are located in a radially outer region of the head (4), with the side surfaces (6) extending into mortises and including first surfaces, which are associated with at least some of the bits (3) and are subjected to pressure ...
Drills, particularly rock drills, with a chisel shank and a drill head with at least one drill bit or tool bit on a face pointing in a feed direction have the tool bit formed of at least one cutting edge provided on the face side between a rake surface and a free surface with the rake surface being in the direction of rotation of the drill and being ahead of the cutting edge. The free surface has at least a portion which extends into the drill bit over at least one sub-area to form a concave dep...
A yieldable assembly for mounting the bearing block of a roller in a frame for reciprocal movement therein comprising a first piston, a cylinder for said first piston, a piston rod on said first piston and extending from said cylinder, a second piston free for movement in said cylinder independantly of said first piston, a first chamber in said cylinder partially defined by one end of said second piston, a second chamber in said cylinder partially defined by the other end of said second piston a...
The present invention relates to chemical anchor rock bolts and to a method of installing the anchor bolts. Such bolts are provided with a clamping member or nut which is adapted while being driven thereby to remain in fixed engagement with the bolt shank during mixing of the chemical anchor resin. Upon setting of the resin and on application of an increased driving torque to the nut, the nut is tightened as required.
An impact type rock crusher having a rotor comprised of a plurality of stirrup type hammers adapted to swing through arcs of approximately 180.degree. between bumper blocks about pivot axes as well as rotating about the main shaft of the rotor. The grate positioned beneath the rotor through which the crushed material exits may be moved uniformly radially with regard to the rotor to an alternate grate position to vary the clearance between the hammers and the top surface of the grate. The overall...
An apparatus for separating rocks larger than a predetermined size from a mixture of various size rocks utilizing a plurality of transversely spaced, inclined arms. The arms reciprocate back and forth, thereby expediting the flow of the smaller rocks into a hopper below and the larger rocks to roll down the inclined arms. The arms are resiliently supported by springs, and the driving mechanism is mechanically isolated from the arms to protect it from shock and vibration received by the arms.
A rock analyser includes a chamber containing a heater (2) and the sensor (6) of a hydrocarbon detector (7), the heater (2) being connectable to a source of power (5) and the sensor (6) being connected to the remainder of the hydrocarbon detector (7). The analyser determines the amount of hydrocarbon material present in the rock. It is portable and is useful for field screening tests to reduce the number of samples sent for laboratory analysis.
Apparatus is provided for crushing rock into aggregate which utilizes a movable jaw operating relative to a fixed jaw. The movable jaw is supported on upper and lower toggle plates which are positioned in non parallel planes. Rock to be crushed is received in an upper entry region defined by the jaws and by opposed cheek plates cooperable with the jaws. Upon reciprocating movement of an hydraulic actuator, a major movement imparted to the movable jaw at its upper region is in a generally upright...
A rock anchor adapted to be mounted in a bore opening at a rock face has a sleeve extending along a sleeve axis and having a body extending along an axis and having an inner end remote from the rock face and an inside surface and an outer end formed with a large-diameter head adapted to lie against the rock face. A wedge in the sleeve at the inner end has a flank extending at an acute angle to the axis. This wedge is fixed in the sleeve against axial movement therein. A drive pin engageable axia...
This invention relates to a rock anchor which includes an elongated element which is composed of a plurality of elongated tension members which are arranged around the long axis of the elongated element in a circumferential spaced relationship to provide a passage through the elongated element, slots between the tension members which extend over the length of the elongated element, an anchor at one end of the elongated element, for holding the element in a hole and a tensioning arrangement at th...
