A roller for operation in a gaseous environment, perhaps containing solid particles; the roller requiring cooling. A central axial cylindrical aperture surrounding a shaft upon which the roller rotates has a continuous helical groove that extends the full length of the aperture. Upon rapid rotation gas traverses the groove, cooling the roller and removing any solid particles otherwise trapped between the aperture and the shaft.
A towed roller for compacting asphalt, earth, etc., including a frame in which a roller drum is journaled, the frame having a forwardly extending drawbar positionable transversely with respect to the frame by hydraulic means to provide an offset in the towed position of the roller, and the frame carrying a transverse shaft which supports at its outer ends rearwardly-extending arms carrying ground-engaging transport wheels, the arms being positionable by hydraulic means to occupy a lowered transp...
The invention concerns a bearing assembly having inner and outer bearing rings and two axially spaced coaxial annular passageways between said bearing rings and a number of rollers retained within said passageways, some of said rollers being inclined in one sense to the axis of said bearing and the others of said rollers being inclined in the opposite sense to said bearing axis.
One end of the hollow valve lifter body is bifurcated forming two spaced supports. A roller is rotatably supported between the supports by a shaft and the circumferential edge rotates in a recess in the body end formed by plunge milling the wall portions of the body intermediate the support and providing a counterbore at the bifurcated end. Preferably, the counterbore is formed simultaneously with the fabrication of the body.
A roller gin is most effectively used for processing fine-stapled cottons. The roller gin comprises a ginning roller, a sectional knife urged against the surface thereof and actuated by a vibrator so that the sections of the knife are oscillating in anti-phase, and a stripping organ also made sectional and provided with vanes, the vanes of the changeable sections being turned through an angle sufficient for each vane to cooperate with an appropriate section of the knife and the stripping organ b...
A non-powered roller conveyor for conveying parts along a conveyor path includes a downwardly sloped conveyor support frame with a plurality of rollers rotatably mounted along the frame. The rollers comprise a length of prefabricated roller top conveyor chain mounted along a top surface of the conveyor frame. The conveyor chain includes a plurality of links connected together by pivotal connectors that permit sideways articulation of the links with respect to each other. Transverse rows of rolle...
A first roller member is adapted to be fitted on a roller shaft, and includes at least one first portion, extending in a circumferential direction of the roller shaft, and having a first thickness in a radial direction of the roller shaft, and at least one second portion, extending in the circumferential direction, and having a second thickness in the radial direction which is greater than the first thickness, and at least one projection, formed on the first portion. A second roller member is fo...
A development roller is provided which can ensure a desired surface roughness and roller hardness even when an elastic layer has not sufficient solvent resistance and which can be preferably used for a long period of time without generating any peeling of a coating film during a continuous long operation. In the development roller, an underlying conductive layer having at least one sublayer and a surface resin layer are provided on the elastic layer in that order. The elastic layer is formed of ...
A roller skate in which plate-like members having means securable to the foot of a wearer, are longitudinally slidable along a guide rail. The mounting members for the roller pairs are also longitudinally slidable in a recess in the bottom of the guide rail and the plate-like members and the roller mounting members are securable at a desired position along the guide rail. The plate of an ice skate may alternatively be inserted in the recess in the guide rail.
A transport roller is disclosed for advancing elongated strips of flat sheet material such as photographic film, paper and the like in tanks for chemical treatment, in driers and for other purposes which comprises a hollow tubular roller body having shafts extending from its ends, with an improved leakproof and quickly assembled shaft mounting being provided in expanded frictional engagement with the tube.
