A screen is constituted of a sheet having a first lens array, and a second lens array formed in the interior of said sheet, wherein each lens of said second lens array is arranged in correspondence with each lens of said first lens array.
A valve is formed by machining a silicon wafer 18 bonded to a glass wafer 2. This machining forms a membrane 44 and a sealing ring. Part of the surface of the membrane 44 and optionally the sealing ring are oxidized in order to impart a mechanical pre-tension to the membrane holding the valve in a closed position. Further etching 52 may be carried out in a manner such that in the absence of the aforesaid pre-tension the valve is in the open position at rest.
A set of platens locatable as for instance on a die shoe and a slide die each contain a recess sized and shaped so as to partially receive one die of a set of dies. The platens further contain a wall which extends between the outer periphery of the platen and the recess with a hole extending through the wall and opening into the recess. The dies have a corresponding hole positioned in the dies so as to align with the holes in the walls when the dies are appropriately located in the recesses in t...
A novel carbonyl reductase useful for producing alcohol, particularly derivatives of (S)-4-halo-3-hydroxybutyrate ester, is provided. A novel carbonyl reductase derived from Kluyveromyces aestuarii and the nucleic acid encoding the enzyme are provided. The carbonyl reductase has excellent reductase activity and stereoselectivity. The carbonyl reductase reduces ketone to produce alcohol. It can be particularly advantageous when used in industrial production of (S)-4-halo-3-hydroxybutyrate ester.
A fastener includes a pad element having number of connecting prongs having two locking ridges disposed thereon. The top locking ridges, which are disposed closest to the tip of the prongs, are smaller than the lower locking ridges, thereby facilitating easy alignment of the unisex fasteners of a mating pad. Back prongs on the pad are used for connecting the pad to a surface of an article having holes for receiving the back prongs such that the connecting prongs are positioned to face upwardly f...
A bobbin for desoldering braid includes a hub and heads extending outwardly at the end of the hub. One head has a curling portion of flexible material establishing a surface in overlying and spaced relationship to the peripheral edge of the other radially extending flat head to cover the winding of braid on the hub when curled inwardly to a closed position and extending away from the flat head to expose the winding when curled to an open position. The hub is formed with a slot which can be narro...
The structuring unit is composed of a wall surface member for the construction with a mounting cavity formed therein, such as a stone, and an anchor mounted on the wall surface member for the construction through the mounting cavity thereof. The anchor is provided with a resistance-increasing member at the opposite side thereof. The anchor is composed of a linear member extending over the full length of the anchor, a protective layer for protecting the linear member from physical damages, and a ...
A mixing and plasticizing machine which comprises at least one mixing and plasticizing cylinder together with at least one screw cylinder and at least one axially movable mixing and plasticizing rotor with passages. The shaft of said mixing and plasticizing rotor is connected to a rotary drive outside the mixing and plasticizing cylinder. At least one axially movable, rotary screw is coaxially connected to said mixing and plasticizing rotor. This invention relates to a mixing and plasticizing ma...
Polyamideimides are prepared by reacting a bis (tricarboxylic acid anhydride) anhydride with a primary diamine or an aminocarboxylic acid, and polymerizing the resulting oligomer composition with a diisocyanate.
The invention relates to a sealed joint comprising a first and a second member between which is formed a substantially L-shaped cross-sectional recess in which is placed a gasket which has a corresponding L-shaped cross-sectional section. The gasket and the recess are so formed that a continuous and excellent sealing is provided between the two members and the gasket, and that no excessive compression or deformation of the gasket is to be feared.
