A sanding head for a rotary sanding machine. The sanding head includes a rotatable disk and a plurality of abraders. The disk has a bottom surface and an outer circumferential edge. The bottom surface of the disk has uniformly distributed topographical variations that extend radially inwardly from the outer edge of the disk. A plurality of conformly distributed abraders project from the bottom surface of the disk to contact the surface to be sanded.
An improved abrasive structure and holder for sanding or the like has a continuous strip of sandpaper or emery cloth folded and secured together to form a circle with radial flaps or fingers extending therefrom and may have a circular stiffener all for cooperating with an annularly grooved disc with radial slots and a cover plate to form a rotary sanding wheel.
A sanding block has a first member having an intermediate portion and a pair of relatively flexible ends wherein a top surface of the first member is configured to be hand held and a bottom surface of each of the ends has at least one retention open surface therein and a second relatively rigid member having an intermediate portion connected to the intermediate portion of the first member and a pair of ends wherein a top surface of each end of the second member has extending therefrom at least o...
The present invention relates to a sanding tool, and more particularly to a sanding tool for smoothing a repair surface. A sanding tool according to the invention is for sanding a surface of a target plane to be repaired into a predetermined condition, which is composed of a base plate, on the front face side of which sandpaper can be stretched, and movable base plates being disposed bendably on opposite sides of the base plate and on each front face side of the movable base plate, sandpaper can...
A sanding apparatus (1) is provided with a platen (2) formed of several layers and with a flat surface to which an abrasive sheet is attached. The platen (2) has a peripheral edge (7) with at least one point (4). A conductive means (18, 20) is provided through the layers of the platen (2) to act as a heat sink adjacent to the point (4) to remove heat from the surface point (4).
A portable belt sander includes a housing, a driving roller journalled therein, a motor with a transmission arranged in the housing for driving the roller, a control-roller journalled in a subframe movable relative to the housing and an endless sanding belt passed around the two rollers. The driving roller has a running surface whose width is materially smaller than that of the sanding belt.
An improved sanding block is disclosed for receiving and tensioning a continuous or endless sandpaper loop or other abrasive wrap-around belt about the sanding block's periphery. The block has two parts, so shaped that when assembled within an endless abrasive belt, they provide a wedging action, which effectively elongates or expands the periphery of the tool to properly tension the belt.

A sanding block comprising slideably interrelated parts for accommodating an endless sanding belt and having a dual action means for selectively moving the parts into bearing relation with the sanding belt for maintaining tension thereon or moving the parts out of such bearing relation with the sanding belt for facilitating removal or adjustment of the sanding belt relative to the sanding block, while also providing the sanding block with a novel convexly curved surface for improved tool versati...
A sanding block has a first member having an intermediate portion and a pair of relatively flexible ends wherein a top surface of the first member is configured to be hand held and a bottom surface of each of the ends has at least one retention open surface therein, a second member having an intermediate portion connected to the intermediate portion of the first member and a pair of ends wherein a top surface of each end of the second member has extending therefrom at least one complementary ret...
