A guiding catheter system (10) is provided that includes a Tuohy-Borst fitting (20) attached as a one-piece construction to a guiding catheter tube (11). The guiding catheter system (10) can also include a dilator (16) and a guide wire 15. The Tuohy-Borst fitting (20) can have a side arm (14) onto which a stop cock (30) can be attached. With the stop cock (30) in its closed position, fluid flow through the side arm (14) is prevented. When the nut (22) on the Tuohy-Borst fitting (20) is tightened...
This invention relates to improved hair waving and straightening compositions of matter. The novel compositions of matter of this invention comprise a sulfite and/or bisulfite reducing system, urea, a cationic polyquaternary resin of such a nature that in combination with the urea in the reducing system a hair waving and/or straightening effect equivalent to conventional thioglycolate systems is effectuated without the attendant unpleasant odors associated with the thioglycolate systems. In addi...
A method of using an apparatus for straightening a propeller having an arbor press with two opposed inner surfaces. The opposed surfaces are spaced apart a sufficient distance to allow a propeller to fit between them with one opposed surface extending beyond the second opposed surface. Two pads are mounted on the first inner surface to support the propeller during the straightening procedure. One or both of the pads may be adjustable to more precisely locate the points of pressure that will be a...
This invention relates generally to horizontal frames for supporting damaged motor vehicles and allowing various pulling operations to be performed thereon. These pulling operations are performed by anchoring of the vehicles to the frame and force applied to the damaged sections of said vehicles through a pulling means supported by a generally L-shaped device which cooperates with said frame thereby restoring said damaged vehicle to its original configuration.
The rolls in a straightening machine are arranged in an upper and a lower row each being associated with a gear, and these gears establish groups of three wherein one gear pertains to one row and drives the two others pertaining to the respective other row. The one gear of each group is on a shaft that is driven by a larger gear and these larger gears are correspondingly arranged in two rows. One of these larger gears receives driving input through a speed reducing gear from a drive motor, and m...
A straightening apparatus for straightening carpet prior to laying the carpet on a floor surface. The apparatus includes an entry conveyor from which carpet is unrolled and fed into a heating section. In the heating section, the carpet is heated sufficient to soften backing material on the carpet. The heated carpet is then fed into a heated straightening section where longitudinal forces are applied while the backing is still soft so that a pattern in the carpet is straightened and held in the s...
A brush for styling hair has a handle connected to a head with the head having a longitudinal axis and a number of stationary teeth and a number of movable teeth. The stationary teeth and the movable teeth both are arranged in a number of rows. The stationary teeth and the movable teeth are aligned with one another in a first position. The movable teeth traverse an amount in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis to a second position. The movable teeth in the second position...
A paired-roll straightening machine designed for straightening rolled shapes, round and shaped tubes and rolled section stock comprises a number of stationarily installed stands mounting pairs of driving shafts which form passes by their rolls, corresponding to the cross section of an article being straightened. The rolls form pairs with some of the pairs intended for propelling the article and the remaining pairs for bending the article. Each roll of the pairs intended for bending the article i...
A straightening machine for rolled, extruded or drawn products includes a frame and removable, offset upper and lower sets of rollers. The rollers are mounted on respective upper and lower supports, with the lower supports being vertically movable with respect to the upper supports, with the lower supports being vertically movable with respect to the upper supports. A carrier within the frame can be used to remove the rollers from the machine.
In a device for intermittent straightening of wire there are independent drives for wire feed and the straightening rotor. The speed of rotation (v.sub.2) of the straightening rotor varies essentially synchronously to the feed rate (v.sub.1) of the wire. To cut the wire (t.sub.4) the wire and rotor are stopped. According to the invention the direction of rotation of the rotor is reversed between successive working cycles.
