A material handling element or bucket is formed from two sidewalls and a backwall. The backwall has one or more apertures postioned in such a manner that the operator manipulating the bucket can see a portion of the leading edge of the bucket. In one embodiment, the apertures are positioned in such a manner that the leading edge can be viewed directly or in combination with one or more mirrors. In another embodiment, the apertures are positioned in such a manner so that the operator can sight on...
A pass-through drawer assembly is disclosed for transferring food and other commodities from an operator inside an enclosed area to a customer on the other side of the enclosure. The drawer assembly includes a drawer frame which is encased in a box-like housing having an opening covered by a hinged door on the operator's side and a pair of exterior hinged doors on the customer's side. A handle device is attached to the drawer frame so that the employee may horizontally extend and retract the dra...
An improved power drill having means for sensing when the drill bit has penetrated through the workpiece and for then retracting the drill bit from the workpiece. An electrical signal responsive to the axial force between the drill and the drill bit is used to sense when the drill bit pierces the workpiece. A sudden decrease in the axial force triggers a mechanism for retracting the drill bit from the workpiece. Means are included to detect broken bits, missing bits and previously drilled holes.
An electronic typewriter which has the capability of erasing characters automatically and which has the further improved capability of being able to back through unused space on the line, which results after a tabulation command, thereby allowing the repositioning of the type element over the characters typed prior to the tab command thereby allowing automatic erasure of those characters. The improvement of the typewriter as described permits the retrieving of characters from an electronic memor...
Disclosed is a cylindrical housing mounted within a frame for rotation about its vertical, central, longitudinal axis. A chordal wall divides the cylinder into chordal segments and diametrically opposite access openings in the cylinder sidewall give access to each of the segments. A tray diametrically movable in one segment is controlled by a handle extending into the other segment. Sealing members prevent air leakage between the frame and the cylinder for all rotative positions of the cylinder ...
A sump motor is mounted in a section of pipe. The motor is a standard motor having special caps at each end of the motor shell and with the shell forming a waterproof enclosure. The caps have radially extending spacers extending out to the pipe. At each end of the pipe are reducers, the internal diameter of the small ends of which correspond to the external diameter of another, smaller standard pipe size. At the bottom a piece of pipe of the smaller size extends inwardly of the reducer to a loca...
A flow-through coalescing separator applicable to clean immiscible liquids and to dirt-carrying immiscible liquids, such as dirty oil and water mixtures. A normally retracted piston periodically backwashes and thereupon compresses the filter body in a pressure vessel so as to purge the filter body of accumulations of dirt and hydrocarbons. When the piston is thereafter being retracted by restoration of input liquid flow pressure, positive coupling of the piston to the filter body stretches it ba...
An inhaler with a flow-through cap and adjustment for controlling the concentration of a medicament when in use is fabricated from a hollow cylindrical barrel or cartridge having open top and bottom ends with an end plug threadedly received in the bottom end to both seal the bottom end and also, when loosened, to adjust the air flow into the bottom end of the barrel and a bullet-shaped nose cap with a blind bore threadedly received in the top end of the barrel, with the nose cap being equipped w...

A rotary compact compressor having through vanes of fixed length slidably mounted in intersecting slots of a cylindrical rotor which rotates on an eccentric axis in a cylinder working chamber formed with a developed surface. The rotor includes an integral forwardly extending drive shaft which is supported in a cantilevered rotatable manner by single bearing means in a front head housing. The cantilevered rotor facilitates assembly of the through vanes by virtue of the rotor intersecting slots be...
