A wood treatment composition which imparts water repellency to kiln-dried lumber.
The interfilament spacing of stuffer-crimped textile strands is increased by application of fluid circumferentially thereto in a temporarily confining region, such as when the strand travels from the stuffer-crimping region to windup. The strand is false twisted in such processing, the initial direction of twisting being opposite to the direction of any substantial twist in the untreated strand.
Titanium and titanium alloy surfaces can be diffusion coated, and portions of the surface protected against such coating by localized powdered masking layer of about 43% titanium, aluminum in an amount equal to the aluminum content of the surface masked, as well as other metals in an amount about one-fifth of their content in the surface masked. Diffusion coating can be speeded by high heat input. Diffusion coating packs can be made with chemically reduced metal content of sludges. Diffusion ali...
The antibiotic compound M139603 (tetronasin), disclosed in GB-A-2027013 as a growth-promotant in farm animals with activity against Gram-positive bacteria, has now been found to prevent and treat Treponem a hyodysenteriae infections in pigs (swine dysentery). Analogues of M139603 have the same action. The compound is administered in the pig's food or water supply.
This invention is directed to the use of a carbazole compound 9-[3-(3,5-cis-dimethylpiperazino)propyl]carbazole, its salts, especially pharmaceutically acceptable salts, and solvates such as hydrates, alcoholates of the salts thereof as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing same in treating anxiety such as generalized anxiety disorder, etc., in humans.
A method of reducing the color of diamond of type 1b including the steps of exposing the diamond to irradiation capable of causing atomic displacements in the diamond, for example the irradiation may be electron bombardment of energy greater than 300 KeV, followed by heat treating the irradiated diamond at a temperature in the range 1600.degree. C. to 2200.degree. C. under a pressure at which the diamond is crystallographically stable at the temperature used.
The present invention relates to a treatment chamber, which by way of example is intended to be used as a spray booth. By means of the present invention a treatment chamber is obtained, which is easy to clean and which permits the insertion of treatment means (22), such as for example spray nozzles for paint (22), at optional places along the whole length of the treatment chamber. This object is obtained by a preferably endless band (1), which is spirally rerouted and displaceable in its longitu...
Cyanide degrading fungi are grown in the mycalial form. The mycelium is then immobilized and the immobilized mycelium used to degrade cyanide ion in cyanide containing effluents. At least 95% of the cyanide ion is degraded.
The treatment of mammals with addition products of a carbonyl group containing compound with bisulfites to improve a mammal (including man) suffering from hypertension is described.
The present invention relates to a method of treating osteoporosis by administering to a host suffering from osteoporosis an effective amount of 24,24-difluoro-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol.
