Abstract of
GB2399152
A drainage system comprising a vertical section of pipe having an increased diameter in relation to the rest of the pipe, the increased diameter of the section preventing rodents from travelling through it. The section may have two ends, a lower end E having a tapered shape and an upper end C having a flange. The flange may be angled downwardly to further prevent the passage of rodents. The drainage system may be formed from cast iron or plastics materials.

Description
VERMIN EXCLUSION SYSTEM
This invention relates to the exclusion of rats from premises It is known that rats can enter premises, industrial and domestic through the drainage systems According to the present invention the diameter of the drainage system is increased for.500 mm in total length from.100 mm to 150 mm on a vertical section as it enters a building. The reason for the increased diameter of the pipe is the fact that it is not possible for rats to gain purchase and advance further A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 (page 37 shows. perspective of the system for the exclusion of rats Figure 2 (page 3) illustrates a section of the system. – 1 – )
Relating to page 3 Figure 2 – A – Length of system.500 mm Figure 2 -B Diameter of system.150 mm Figure 2 -O – is a removably top to the system with internal flange which is angled down at minimum degrees Figure 2 – D – Diameter of existing drainage.100 mm Figure 2 – E – Lower section reduced by taper back to.lOO.mm diameter The system can be made from plastic or cast iron to suit various applications. 2 –
